Bill Goodell aged seventy two shot 73 gross. Bill playing off a nine handicap carded his best ever round which included five birdies. After the game he told me he had no idea what he was shooting, however he calmly birded the last hole. Dave Paliwoda presented bill with a used golf ball and first place in today's event. Former Captain and friend Bill is an inspiration to us all. His other hobbies include chain smoking and lashings of Rum & Sprite. By Kilroy Was Here.

Jan 04 2005 BBSC Welcomed New Captain Dave Paliwoda as he took The Helm today and it looks like Dave going to run a pretty tight ship. No more gimmies and golf ball will be played from the rough instead of the usual caddies drop back to the fairway. Just a few of the new Idea's to be introduced in 2005. Dave also brings his unique style to the presentation. He's a pretty Big guy and was quick to call order during the presentation. Dave a long time club member and former right hand man to past captain Bill Goodell. he probably holds the title of clubs most "improved player" a now handicap of ten and hits the ball a county mile. He looks descend for single digits this year. With his new team of Stephen Peters (treasurer) and Jim Murphy (Handicapper) The future look bright. Good Luck. Kilroy Was Here

Dec 28 2004 "Bill Goodell" Retires as Club Captain, However he will stay on as Club President. Bill shoots regularly under his 10 handicap? not bad at 71 he is still one of the clubs top golfers. Bill was also a founder Member of the Pattaya Sports Club (Thailand) He Say's he is looking forward to playing more events with other members as in the past the captain was reduced to playing in the finale group. Hit them Long and straight and have a happy New Year. Kilroy Was Here

June 2005 The Powder Keg closed its doors after Ten Years. Problems renewing the lease and labor disputes with the girls finally brought one of Angeles Cities great institutions to its knees. The Powder Keg, Along with all its characters will be surely missed.

After 30 odd Years of operation the Dunn Inn is closing, and the Last Registration will be Feb 15 2005. The committee is arranging alternative Location which will be announced next Tuesday.
Since I am a fairly new comer to the Angeles area please excuse if I get some details not quite correct. The Dunn Inn was opened in the seventies by the Late Paul Dunn and his wife who I had the pleasure of playing golf with this fine gentleman many times, I also have the Honor of winning the Last Paul Dunn sponsored Tournament a few years ago, and the Picture of Paul presenting me with the Trophy sits with pride in my house. The Dunn Inn has been a sponsor and supporter of the BSGC since is formation in 1995, however golf was only one of the many activities organized by Paul and later by Dave who with his wife took over the Running of the Dunn Inn. For those Long time Angeles Residents and ex US Military , the Dunn Inn will always be remembered for its friendly atmosphere, cold SMB and great hospitality. By Jim Murphy
