Senior Director, Strategic Planning, Foster City, CA 2000-7/2002 Commissioned by President to launch new company as co-project leader to build www.US.PlayStation.com, the official e-commerce web site for North America. Company started under directive of Ken Kutaragi, “father” of the PlayStation® and PlayStation®2. • Built site in 7 months and made hundreds of decisions under intense pressure. • Built revenues to $6M/year in less than two years with innovative strategies. • Managed up to 200 consultants during site build and eliminated reliance after site launch. • Negotiated contact concessions, flexibility and discounts during height of dotcom boom. • Developed knowledge and best practices in internet technologies and architecture. • Spearheaded use of company-wide metrics and reporting for site enhancements. • Responsible for P&L, including financial reporting and forecasting. SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA (SCEA) Director, Business Development, Foster City, CA 1996-2000 Built Business Development into a vital and necessary department, which was later replicated in SCE Japan and Europe. Launched new businesses, products and systems for business growth. • Started initial plans for network gaming for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system, including strategy, new business models, agreements, and forecasts. • Drove business development for North America to enter and dominate new vertical markets.  Negotiated and closed multiple deals through the evaluation of over 500 opportunities.  Increased revenues in excess of $100 million from inception.  Presented clients for funding from Sony’s NY and Japan Corporate Venture Funds, which resulted in funding of $1.8 million.  Managed account relationships and initiated quantitative measures of service quality.  Speaker at E3 (Entertainment Electronics Expo) and other industry conferences. • Overhauled standards and systems for the peripheral licensing program for N. SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT (SPE) Manager, Development and Overhead, Culver City, CA 1992-1996 Appointed by the VP Finance after 2 years at SPE to launch new department to create internal controls in development spending and curtail excess spending. Developed broader skills working directly with various senior executives involved with motion pictures. • Created strategic plans for Lisa Henson, President-Columbia Pictures. • Built new department to oversee development and overhead expenditures.  Hired 8 new professionals to grow both Development and Overhead and Business Analysis/Finance departments.
