FINAL CHAPTER

Eriol shielded his eyes. He saw Tomoyo rushing towards him. He smiled.

"Eriol! Eriol, you're ok! Thank god!" She embraced him tightly, then touched his face and arms. "Weren't you hurt or anything?"

He shook his head. "Like you said, thank god."

"But that kid abducted the girl, honest!" cried Kumo.

"Eh, shut up! That boy is harmless! What do you think could a boy like him do?" asked one cop gruffly.

"You don't know anything! That boy is a warlock!" Tamano shouted desperately.

The blue-haired lad passed the thieves and went straight to Mrs. Daidouji. "It's my fault, Madam. I beg your forgiveness."

Tomoyo stepped in-front of him. "No, let me. I will take full responsibility of my action." She turned to her mother. "I ran away, but he talked me into going back to apologize for my foolishness."

She knelt down in-front of her daughter so they'll be face to face. "But why did you run away?"

The little girl looked down. "I thought you don't care about me anymore. You chose that client over me."

Mrs.Daidouji embraced her daughter. "I'm sorry, darling. I thought you were already a mature and independent young lady who don't need me that much
anymore."

"But I'm still your little girl!" protested the lass.

"Of course you are. I'm sorry again. Tell you what, I'll make it up to you by taking the week-off to celebrate your birthday." announced the woman.

Tomoyo cheered, then paused. "Can Sakura, Syaoran and Eriol come too?"

"But of course. I'm not familiar with the last name though. Who is he anyway?" asked her mother curiously.

The lad bowed slightly. "Madam, I am Eriol Hiiragizawa. How do you do?"

"I am well, thank you.And thank you too for talking sense into my daughter too."

"Please don't mention it." he replied.

"And all this time I thought Tomoyo was kidnapped!" said Mrs.Daidouji.

"What made you think that, Mom?" asked Tomoyo.

One of her maids showed her a paper.

Tomoyo giggled. "Mom, that's my letter to Syaoran! He was asking me some tips on how to approach this girl he likes."

"Well, now that you've mentioned it, the handwriting does look like a fifth-grader's." commented Officer Hanasaki.

"Good, now everyone's happy. Let us all eat inside Ms. Tomoyo's birthday dinner." the cook said.

"Uh, Eriol, here's the reward we promised-" Mrs. Daidouji began but Eriol shook his head.

Tomoyo beamed. Eriol wasn't kidding when he said he doesn't want the reward! She felt unexplainable happiness knowing the boy risked himself for her out
of concern.

"I have another reward in mind."Said the boy.

The girl frowned. A reward is a reward after all. Even for a handsome and kind gentleman like Eriol Hiiragizawa.

"May I ask your permission to talk to your daughter for a few minutes privately?"

"Is that all? Sure." said the woman, surprised.

He turned to Tomoyo. She motioned him to go to the garden.

They sat on the grass.

"Are you contented with your reward already?" asked Tomoyo.

He glanced at her. "Yes,I am."

"You have a strange definition of reward." she remarked.

"Yeah, well.."

"Eriol, thanks for all your help."

"Anything for you, sweetheart."

"I'm not kidding!"

"So am I!" He looked up at the stars. "For your birthday.." He pointed to a small white star on the right.

"..I will give you that star as a gift. I will call that star Polyhymnia."

"Polyhymnia?"

"A muse. Actually she also can sing very well, like you." he explained.

"Oh." This is the most unique gift she ever got in her whole life.

"And I will make the star fall so you can make a wish." As he speak, the said star slowly streaked down the skies.

"H-How did you do that?" asked Tomoyo, astounded.

"Make a wish." He replied instead.

She shrugged before closing her eyes. When she opened them, she saw Eriol staring at her intently.

"Tomoyo.." He began, but his guts failed him. "Let's go in. Your mother is waiting for us."

"Ok." She looked a bit disappointed but she smiled. She leaned over to his ears. "I'll tell you what Mom thought at first when she saw us. She didn't think you kidnapped me, she thought we eloped."

Eriol's eyes widened.
