Chapter 5
"Damn!"Eriol cursed under his breath as he watched the cue ball fall into the hole.He threw the cue on the table before settling in his seat.Even his game wasn't doing what he knew should do!He shut his eyes tight, but it was useless. He could only see one face, hear one voice and smell one scent. It all belonged to Tomoyo Daidouji.
He opened his eyes and gazed at the pool table."It was right there where I first realized I do not want Kaho anymore. It was where I knew that Tomoyo was someone special."He took his glasses off and placed it on his lap.He then leaned on his chair and massaged his aching temples."Tomoyo,Tomoyo, why did I let you go?Why did I let myself lose my only angel?"he murmured as he felt his eyelids getting heavy. He then dozed off.

"Ms.Nakuru, are you sure it's ok to disturb him while he's busy with his game in the recreation room?"Tomoyo sounded fidgety.
Nakuru Akizuki smiled reassuringly."Master Eriol will be delighted to see you."And she was telling the truth. She peeped inside the library last night where Kaho and her master were conversing.

"You're leaving already?"asked Eriol.
Kaho nodded."We're getting married tomorrow."
Silence.
"I'm sorry Eriol."
He paused. He had dreamed of this scene before:Kaho begging for forgiveness. This was his chance to deliver a clever one-liner that will truly shock her to the bones.
"Don't be."he said instead.
"Master?!"She didn't expect the answer.
He smiled sincerely."Actually,I must thank David because of two things:you found someone who will take care of you and love you throughout your life and he indirectly led me to the person who I want to take care of.."He looked up at the sky forlornly."..if she gives me the chance."
Kaho looked puzzled."Are you talking about your girlfriend Tomoyo?"
He sweatdropped before sighing."S-Sort of.I mean.."He explained how he made Tomoyo agree to make Kaho jealous by pretending to be his girlfriend so the woman can see what a good thing she missed. After he finished narrating,Kaho burst out laughing.
"I knew something was up when you started popping out everywhere I go together with her!"She then turned serious."And your problem is.."
"I care for her deeply,Kaho.I-I think I love her."admitted Eriol,his cheeks red.
Outside,Nakuru stifled a gasp.
"Are you sure?"asked the red-haired woman testily.
"I've never been surer in my life."he replied, conviction and sincerity ringing out in his voice.
"So what's the problem?"
"I hurt her in the most awful way and I'm afraid..she might not accept me.I want to make her believe that I really do love her."
Nakuru, meanwhile, vowed silently to help Eriol."Don't worry, monster,er,Master.I'll do all I can to get Tomoyo back."

"Ms.Nakuru?"Tomoyo interrupted her thoughts.
"Go on!"She gave the girl a little more push towards the slightly ajar door of the recreation room.
"M-Ms.Nakuru,I don't know..I don't think I can do this.M-Maybe I should just go home and forget all about it."She started to turn around when Nakuru shoved her into the room and locked her from the outside.
"Ms.Nakuru,Ms.Nakuru!"Frantic whispers and light but urgent knocks came from inside the room."Please me out!Ms.Nakuru!"
"I used my magic to lock that door.Only my master can break my spell and open that door for you..if he wants to,that is."She grinned wickedly."Bye!"
"MS.NAKURU!"Tomoyo leaned on the door."How can she do this to me?I never wronged her,I never did injustice to her and I never stole her favorite chocolate but why did she do this to me?"She stopped talking when she heard a soft snore. She looked up and saw Eriol fast asleep on the chair. Her heart raced as she tentatively stepped towards him.
He didn't stir,so she took another one.And another one.And one more.Until finally, she found herself standing right in front of the still sleeping Eriol.
"There,I got what I wanted.I saw him already. Now I can go home."she said to herself but she couldn't tear her gaze away from his angelic sleeping face.He looked innocently younger because his glasses were taken off.The next thing she knew was she was leaning towards him, eyes glued to his closed eyelids to make sure he's still asleep. She then closed her eyes too and slightly kissed his parted lips.
She was about to pull away when two hands gripped her waist tightly. She hastily opened her eyes and found a fully-awake Eriol smiling at her mischievously. Her cheeks turned crimson."What do you think are you-"
"You're not going anywhere,Tomoyo.I suffered long enough."he told her firmly.
"I have no idea what you're talking about-"
"Our little game is over."said Eriol.
"I know!I know! You don't have to rub it on my face!"she moaned miserably.
"Let's make our pretend game real.I want you to be my girl again,Tomoyo."he said.
Her face lost its color."W-What?"
His begging amethyst eyes locked with hers."Take me back,Tomoyo, please.I can't bear to lose you..not now when I'm madly in love with you."
"B-But,but.."she sputtered.
"I love you more than anything and anyone else in this world.Please,Tomoyo..I want you back in my life."he pleaded.
Tomoyo's eyes grew watery."You know what,Eriol? You might just be setting me up on another game or you're just using me to subtitute for Kaho in your life, but I don't care.To know that I've been part of your life is good enough."
Eriol wiped her tears with the back of his hand."You are not a part of my life,Tomoyo. You ARE my life. And I love you very much."He sealed his words with a passionate kiss, promising she'll never ever cry again as long as he's here.
