Tribute to Melissa

Have you ever dreamed of someone 'perfect'? Have you ever thought how nice it would be to have someone like that in your life? I did, and then I met her. Her name is Melissa. I actually met her on the internet in early '98 and we became friends and started talking on the phone in July/August '98. We were like having one big person joined at the hip. As soon as we would wake up we'd be on the phone until the time we went to bed sometimes 7 days a week. We knew every aspect of each other lives and decided we were 'going out', although we were a state apart and we haven't met each other yet. And then eventually we decided we had to met. We met in N.Y.C. to go Spice Girl Shopping (can you believe it?) on August 6, 1999. Her mom, my parents, my brother, her and I had the time of our lives. We all hit off like we knew each other for years. So when the Melanie C Concert at Irving Plaza in NYC rolled around Melissa and I would have ran up there from home if we could have so we convinced our parents to go too (which wasn't easy for my mom because i had just recovered from ear surgery). About a week later she was down for my cotillion and a week after that I went up for her prom.

About a week later my life had changed completly. I stopped talking to my two best friends (Melissa for a few reasons and Chris for a really stupid reason). Anyway, the thing of me and Melissa not talking lasted for about 2 months and then I got my cell phone and things went almost back to normal. After talking to her again and taking some time to put my life in some order I realized she was my reason to do it all. She gave me strength to fight for things when I was weak, she gave me a reason to care for everything I do, and she made me see the truth when it wasn't clear. Now that it is 2002 my life is almost 100% back on track

So for everytime you think that there isn't anybody there, and it's better to shut everyone out, don't shut out the people who mean the most to you. I was lucky, I had Melissa there to point that out to me, and to give me the courage to face something I had been wanting to do for a long time(Patch things up with my ex-best friend, and tolerate the family problems as best I could. So Melissa this is for you. I'd give you the world if I could, you know that. But beings I can't, I'm giving you this as your reminder "I hope some day, if you've lost your way, you can turn to me, like I turn to you". and Thanks. I love you forever...
