Wellington Zoo is a member of the breeding program for the sumatran tiger. They have been successful with two litters of three cubs each born to their breeding pair. Unfortunately the breeding male, Jambi, was killed when meat given to him was poisoned. The zoo is now looking for replacement animals as their two remaining tigers are mother and son.
