The Asian Small Clawed Otter, found in many zoos around Australia, is an excellent choice
for a zoo exhibit. Small, they don't need an awful lot of room. Social and active, they
provide entertainment for viewers; kids love them. Their needs are esily met in zoos and they
provide ready material for education. Though not endangered, they are vulnerable to habitat
destruction. Otters can be seen at Melbourne, Taronga, Adelaide, Wellington, The Australia Zoo
and Underwater World on the Sunshine Coast Queensland.
