Its escaped!!
This may be the next step in the evolution of zoo enclosures. By using the animals natural instinct to stay within their territory, harmless animals like this mother and child marmoset can actually be given free reign during the day. This could be a definate improvement as the tamarins need to keep ever vigilant for predators, learn what they can and cannot eat, and know the dangers of their territory. A Golden Lion Marmoset at Adelaide Zoo learnt this the hard way when it was eaten by a Tasmanian Devil. You can be sure that its mates won't go near that animal again! This may be harsh but is what is needed in the wild. If zoos are to reintroduce animals to the wild, then the animals must have their survival instinct up to scratch.
