RAMS VS JETS 1974
LOS ANGELES 20, NEW YORK 13 — At Shea Stadium, attendance 61,450 paid, 56,110 actual, mild and sunny. The Jets put forth their best effort of the year, but it was not quite enough to best the playoff-bound Rams, who left with a 20-13 victory, New York led, 13-6, heading into the fourth quarter behind the running of Mike Adamle (subbing for injured Riggins) and Emerson Boozer and the inventive play-calling of Joe Namath(19-32-155).But Charlie Stukes intercepted a Namath pass and it set up the winning touchdown by Lawrence McCutcheon after 39 seconds of the quarter. Only 21 seconds earlier McCutcheon had tied the game with a 23-yard run, set up by a fine kickoff return. With James Harris making his first start at QB for the Rams, McCutcheon and Jim Bertelson did yeoman duty with 206 yards rushing between them.
