THE WORST GAMBLER IN THE WORLD?

HEROES HARD AT WORK DEFENDING THE CUP!

NEW SEASON - NEW LOOK

Burswood United is evolving
A new season, a new format for Burswood United this year registering one team only in the social leagues to give the rest of the Waassaaland a chance. On request from Waassa, Burswood United have stepped back to allow new clubs to grow (This is the jokey bit for any waassaa officials reading this, we know you didn't really!) The year also brings a new style webpage to United. One with a bit more social comment and observation on the state of the union.

Burswood United officials have had to come to terms with some massive restructuring maneuvres both on and off the pitch during the off season. These have dramatically reduced the personnel available to United coaching staff on the pitch but the club is reputed to be saving a fortune now. The program also involves severe cost cutting measures which has left United's services stripped to the bone, prices at Lee Reserve Stadium have doubled, club membership is now solely based on wealth, but the club has seen tough times before and will get through this.

Lee Reserve stadium has also seen much in the way of rennovations in the off season too. The mega stadium now has machines where people used to be, the faithful Burswood Army have been replaced by machines that do not turn up late, do not cheat the system and do not need a break. However, it has been noted that these machines do not greet the United supporters with a smile or a friendly word, or an empathetic ear, or any enthusiasm. The Bring Back The People revolt of January was quickly put down by the machine manufacturers and accountants who used overwhelming figures and world event excuses to batter down the protesters.

The fortunes of the club have been hugely variable in recent years with the club rising from the bottom to the top in the same season and vice versa. The Board have decreed that the shareholders are not happy with this and demand more stability. As a result the capacity of the stadium has been reduced to cut costs and limit the clubs exposure to the volatility of the sporting world. The club is no longer competing in the lucrative top flight.

The club now has a second motto, "Always look on the bright side of life."
