Career

Born in Montegrotto Terme (Padova) on 5 January 1980, Marco Rigoni is a forward of great promise who would dearly love to follow in Alessandro Del Piero´s footsteps for Juventus. Apart from their playing in the same position, there are other similarities too as both come from the same area and both were signed from Padova. Rigoni came to Juventus in 1997 and is a regular in the Primavera youth side, but he also trains with the first team squad under Carlo Ancelotti as he did when Marcello Lippi was in charge. In his first year for Juventus he has made it onto the substitutes´ bench several times and made his debut in the Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio, playing for 20 minutes in the return leg at the Olimpic stadium. Now in his second season, Rigone has played all Juventus´ Coppa Italia games and was on from the start for the Serie A game away to Venezia. His footballing CV includes a friendly in Malta where he scored twice, his debut in the League against Venezia and the UEFA Cup play-off against Udinese.

Ancelotti's view: "He is a good young player, who sometimes trains with us - something which will help him mature as a footballer. He is a useful player to be able to call upon if required."
