Career
Determination and aggressiveness are only two of the Uruguayan's skills. He is rightly considered one of the best central defenders in the world. Paolo always gives his all on the pitch but sometimes his enthusiasm has been known to get him into trouble.
Interests
His father played in two World Cups and for Montevideo giants Nacional (Uruguay). His favourite dish is asado (regional speciality). His favourite top model is Laetitia Casta.
Ancelotti's view: "He has a number of assets. One of them is his aggression, which is part and parcel of his game, but it can lead him into trouble at times."
