Career
He is rightly considered to be the most talented footballer in Italy. In just four years he has shot to stardom, moving up from the youth team (known as the 'Primavera') to the highest levels of the international football. After a nine-month absence due to an injury he picked up in Udine on 8th November 98, Alex made his comeback in Cesena on 4th August in the Intertoto Cup game against Russian outfit Rostselmash (and he ended up on the scoresheet too).
Del Piero is well known not just on the pitch but off it too and has advertising contracts with a number of companies. He has been a guest at the Sanremo Festival, the Miss Italia contest and other major events. Alex is actively involved in charity work which he prefers not to publicise. He spent his summer holidays in Sardinia.
Interests
His favourite breed of dog is the German Shephard. He loves reading and listening to music. He likes houses, interior decorating and paintings. He loves Italian cuisine in particular pasta and pizza.
