Summary: Voyager finally makes it home, and Kathryn sets her heart on a difficult task. Bringing her father and grandfather together.
Note:This is part of a series! Not the first one though (I'm doing what my English teacher said Homer did with the Odessey, writing out of order.).
legal junk: bla bla bla, I don't own Voyager, Paramount does, I'm not getting money for this, bla bla bla done with that! I want to tell you what's in the story in case you're looking for something in particular.
Tom and B'Elanna have been married for sometime now, and have 14 year old triplet daughters, Elizabeth, Felicity, and Kathryn. In this story Voyager has just reached home, and Tom doesn't want to see his father again. This story is mainly about Kathryn trying to change things. (This is going to have to be in parts due to lack of time)
Now, for the story!!!
Felicity Paris watched Earth from the window in the she and her triplet sisters, Kathryn, and Elizabeth, shared, she sighed out loud. Elizabeth noticed something was wrong. She was always the sensitive one in the group. She walked over and stood next to her triplet. "What's wrong Felicity?" She asked.
"I don't know." She said, "I'm just wondering what's next, I guess."
Kathryn looked up from her PADD, stood up, and walked to the window to comfort her sisters, "I've been wondering that myself." She said, "but, I wouldn't worry guys."
Elizabeth nodded in agreement, "Kathryn's right. Earth gives us new opportunities." <>Felicity laughed, "Opportunities? You sound like a Ferangi." She paused, "at least I think you do. Never met one."
The three girls laughed. "We better get some sleep." Kathryn said. Felicity and Elizabeth agreed, and the girls got into bed, and tried to get some sleep.
Later that Night
Kathryn heard her parents come back that night. They were arguing quietly, so they wouldn't wake the triplets. 'To late.' Kathryn thought. She heard them go into their bedroom. So she silently slipped into the Great Room, and leaned against their door to hear what they were fighting over.
"B'Elanna, how many time do I have to tell you! He doesn't want anything to do with me!" Her father said.
"Tom, you've changed over the past 20 years what makes you think he didn't?" She paused, "He sent you that letter."
"That was 15 years ago! We didn't even have the kids then! Besides, I don't know what was in it! Now, I don't want to see him yet. Maybe in a few years, but not now. I don't want him to pressure the kids."
"Oh yeah right Tom, 'you don't want him to pressure the kids' sounds to me like you're afraid of what he'll do to you." B'Elanna's voice was hard.
Kathryn could actually feel her mother glaring at her father through the door, and her father say, "B'Elanna, I mean it. Don't you go contacting him on my behalf, okay?"
B'Elanna sighed and softened, "Fine if you don't want me to contact Owen, I won't. But I still don't agree." They began to talk about other things, and Kathryn pulled away from the door, and went back to her bedroom. 'Owen Paris, Daddy's father! My grandfather! Of course!' Kathryn wanted to meet him. 'That's it, I'm going down to San Fransico tomorrow, and I'm going to find my Grandfather. After all, Daddy said Mama couldn't contact him, not me.' She lay back down and started to plan how she would find him.
That Morning
The next morning Kathryn went to see the Captain about using the transporter. She knew how to operate them herself, she had since she was six years old, but she remember years ago, her father told her not to use the transpoters without permission. So, she went to the Captain. She knew Janeway normally wouldn't even consider letting her use the transporter without her parents, and because of that, Kathryn was going to have to put on a little act. When she walked into the Captain's quarters, Janeway was sitting on the couch with another woman. She looked up when Kathryn entered, "Good morning Kathryn." She said, thrilled to see one of her goddaughters, "have a seat."
Kathryn sat down, obbidiantly, "Good morning." She said.
"Kathryn, this is my sister Phoebe, and Phoebe this my goddaughter and name sake, Kathryn Paris." The Captain said.
Phoebe smiled, "Nice to meet you Kathryn."
Kathryn smiled back, "Nice to meet you to, and by the way, that trick with the sonic shower works great, I used it on my sister Elizabeth."
Phoebe burst into laughter, "Well, Kathryn Janeway, what have you been telling this nice young girl about me?"
"Aunt Kathryn, I have a question." She blurted out.
Janeway turned her attention to her, "What is it?"
"You knew my Grandfather, correct?"
Janeway nodded, "Yes, I did."
"Was he a bad person?" She asked, trying to sound confused and lost, Kathryn knew how to play Janeway like a drum.
Janeway's eyes softened, "No, of course not. What makes you say that?"
"Well, Daddy doesn't want to see him, and I do." She put on the saddest face she could make, and tried to make her eyes water.
"Oh Kathryn," the Captain patted her shoulder, "all right."
"What?"
The Captain shook her head, "Kathryn Louise Paris, you should consider a career as a diplomat." She sighed, "you can use the transporter to beam down and meet your Grandfather."
Kathryn grinned, and hugged the poor, beaten, Star Fleet Captain,
"Thank you!"
Janeway smiled back, "Just promise me one thing."
"What?"
"Be careful."
"I will." Kathryn ran out of the Janeway's quarters.
After she left Phoebe began to chuckle, then burst out laughing. Janeway sent a glare at her sister, "What is so funny?" She asked.
Phoebe struggled to remain calm, and tried to control herself, "Kathryn Janeway, that kid just played you like a drum."
Janeway frowned, then gave up and sighed, "Yes, I suppose she did."
San Fransico
Kathryn looked around the unfamiliar surroundings of Star Fleet Headquarters. 'Oh man,' she thought, 'I'm never going to find Admiral Paris's office.' She looked around again, then let out a big sigh.
"Can I help you?" A woman's voice said behind her.
Kathryn spun around to see a pleasant looking young Ensign, sitting at a desk. Kathryn smiled, "Yes please, I'm looking for Admiral Paris."
"He's in his office, thrid door on the left." She informed her.
"Thank you." Kathryn said, and started toward the office.
When she got to his door she hesitated. She wasn't sure how to tell him who she was. Her hand shook as she rang the bell, and she fought to get it under control.
"Come." A tough voice said from inside. Kathryn walked in, and stood in the door. He was a big man, his hair was gray, and his eyes were an exact copy of her father's, and hers. "Can I help you young lady?" he asked.
Kathryn took a deep breath, "Owen Paris?" She asked, just to make sure. He nodded, "My name's Kathryn, Kathryn Paris." He stared at her, "Tom's daughter, and your granddaughter"
