Tanis Half-Elven was the son of Elansa Kanan, sister to the Speaker of the Suns, Solostaran, and a human rogue who raped her. Solostaran raised Tanis with his children, but he was always an outcast as he was a half-elf. While still young, Tanis met Flint Fireforge, a hill dwarf residing in Qualinost as well. After leaving Qualinesti together, Tanis became one of the famous Heroes of the Lance, an honorary Solamnic Knight, wife of Laurana Kanan and father of Gilthas. Tanis was slain by the Knights of Takhisis, defending the High Clerist's Tower in 383 AC.
