Woo-Hoo, Spike! I didn't realise Blondie was so evil back in the good ol' days. Geez, have they softened him up or what! So glad Joss decided against making the bad guy of the season the 9 year old boy with the way outdated ' do.
Best scene would've had to be the one with Spike and Angel when the brood guy put on his evil face and nostalgised with his Skywalker. For a third of a second I actually believed the Angel man about his brooding amour act, but I guess that was one part wishful thinking, two parts lack of brain-ness. I would've hit him too, Spike. I love Angel and all, but goddamn sometimes he is so soul-harbouring he deserves a punch in his beautiful face. (But not too hard - don't wanna leave any scars! Superficial - who, me?) It would've been so cool to have seen Spike and Angelus in evil mode back in the day. Stupid gypsy curse. Oh Angelus, I love you. Should've killed Xander when you had the chance, man. Thank god Angel redeemed his sissy self (I know, I'm brutal) by kicking some vampire ass later on with Xander. Why couldn't he have killed the Xand man by mistake or something in the process, is that too much to ask?
Yay, and also the pre-idiotised Druscilla. God, she and Spike had sparking chemistry together! Spike, you stake my heart. Especially with that drool-worthy leather jacket!
Joyce succeeds yet again in annoying the hell out of me with her whiny "I'm the perfect mother" voice and dorky hairdo. I can't believe what an idiot she is not to realise her daughter's into some deep mojo. Sunnydale's selective memory trick strikes again. That was a laugh though, when Joyce ended up with the day-saveage, but sorta out of character for pre-rollerboy Spike to give up like that. But then, who wouldn't want to run screaming if Mrs Summers started whining to them? God, I'm sorta a bitcha, huh? Oh well!
Glad Angel learned how to stay in a room for more than 5 seconds in later episodes. *That* was the B/A scene for the episode?! Feel cheated much? Damn, wish he had been able to make that Bronze date. Buffy was in the groove, yeah baby, yeah. I was half-expecting Spike to go over and put the moves on her. Maybe there are some fanfics out there that...
Ms Calendar and Giles. Hmmm. Unfortunately I can't judge their relationship objectionally cuz from later episodes she gave me a kind of an ick. But - it was cute how they did the geek bonding thing about mythology and stuff.
Loved the Cordy-Willow scenes. Cordelia rules! I can't imagine the show without her vain remarks, sigh.
Spike's right. As "The Wish" shows, what makes Buffy strongs is her support network of friends and family. I sure hope she appreciates all their help, because unlike her, they don't have any destined obligation to do the good-guy thing.
Have to feel sorry for Buffy though. It must be hard for her to keep all her doings a shush while still maintaining a show of normalcy. Sympathy, Buff.
