Giles:
Here’s hoping that this isn’t just a token Giles episode for us disgruntled fans. Please, let there be more Giles soon!
Spike:
Spike-a-holic Moments:
Buffy-Riley:
WOO-HOO!! Excellent episode, major laughs!
WOW!! So very, very Wow! This is definitely season four’s best episode yet.
Welcome back dear, how I missed you! The demon transformation thing was kinda analogous for Giles’ role in this season, really. He has found himself disfigured into something that he cannot understand, and which the others don’t think to understand. The only ones he can try to relate to now are Xander and Spike – fellow loser has-beens. In this forced transformation, Giles is thrust into a self-discovery, not unlike the one is he undergoing as an unemployed ex-Watcher. And at the end of it all, he reasserts his position as father figure, good-guy, and plain, fallible human.
Random Giles-y goodness:
“Oh Crap!” when he’s dusting and finds that book alerting of looming doom. Far cry from the early days of “Oh dear!” Yay, liberation Giles – but I still miss the tweed. :(
Giles feeling left out at B’s surprise do. Mean unobservant Buffy with your Oooh Professor Walsh talk. (Hey – reverse WML2 Kendra effect, huh?) Sympathy Giles, I felt your ick factor, and my heart goes out to ya. Although the Giles-Buffy relationship hasn’t been touched on much at all this season, I guess that’s indicative of their father-daughter interaction. A young woman who’s finding independence isn’t going to tell daddy about all the new things in her life. Still, I miss the days of when she needed him – that scene in Passion when he tells her off for interrupting his fight with Angelus, and she punches him, and they both end up crying – wow!
Demon Giles running after Professor Walsh on the street. LOL! What a hoot-a-nanny!
Funniest bit of this season has to go to the scene where Ethan’s doing his evil aside in the empty crypt, and Giles overhears and asks who’s there. ROTFL. This show ROCKS!! ;0>
I’m officially in love with Spike! Eeeekkk!!! He’s so damn DROOL-WORTHY! He and Xander have fantastic interaction going this season. Even though Spike’s moved out (geez, he took his unrealistic-to-character time about that, didn’t he?), I hope we’ll see more of the two of them together. And Spike with Buffy. More Spike n’ Buffy please. Mmmm (flashbacks to “Something Blue”) – MUCH more. ;0>
Xander tells him off for stealing his radio
Spike – “Big surprise seeing as I’m evil and all.”
Giles asks Spike to help him
Spike – “You mean, out of the evilness of my heart?”
The HAIR! I adore that hair!!!!
OK, for die-hard B/A fans, please read my
First scene – making out in bed: Woah! Aren’t things moving a little fast here?! Thank you Willow; definite interruption moment.
Death count comparison – LOL! 17 vamps? Riley got burnt, hehehe. But in a nice, it’s OK, you’re only human, kinda way. Nice going with the being ‘taken’ by him, Buffy. Smooth.
Sparring – hmmmm, Riles looked a bit peeved about being whammied by a girl. Loyalty rules me though when I declare that she and Angel fought way better together – no holding back there.
So Buffy’s all cloud nine-ing in love, huh? Humph. Good for her but – well, she was like that with Angel for all of two seconds. Humph. But then, she’s probably like, Angel-who right now, huh?
Post-save Giles B/R talk: Yeah, that’s really great that you like assertive Buffy, Riles dear, but – couldya do something with that dorky hairdo please?!
More Rambles:
Like the whole 314 deal – very X-Files, excitement!
Don’t like Walsh AT ALL. Absence of strong father figure, my foot. But yeah, that ‘pure soul’ like from Riley was pretty puke-worthy – who the heck writes his lines?!!
Willow-Tara: definite romance vibes here. I hope Tara has depth within that silence though.
More Xander screenage please!
