chapter 5~the great babysitting expidition

"Adriannnnnn" Zac whined into the phone.

"Za-aaacccc" I teased.

"Wanna come over and help babysit?" he asked enthusiastically.

"Gee, let me think about it...NO!" I said, laughing.

"Oh, why not?" Zac asked, a little hurt.

"I'm kidding. Now why am I going to help babysit?" I asked

"Because, it'll be fun"

"Okeday"

"Come over NOW!" "oK!" Two seconds after hanging up with Zac I was at their door. It was so nice that my new best friends lived right next door. It was just like in a story. I could go over and hang out with them anytime I wanted! Meaning, I NEVER get bored...unless ofcourse they're practicing.

"Adrian! How LOVELY to see!" Taylor said, swinging open the door.

"Drunk already? You didn't wait for ME?" I teased. We both laughed. "We rented a movie" Taylor said, pointing to the movie on top of the VCR. I was curious about what they had rented, so ofcourse I went to check. "10 things I....10 THINGS!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!" I said, jumping into his arms. Taylor laughed. "Thank Zac, he picked it out!" "Where is he anyways?" I asked. "I dunno" Taylor said, wandering out for the room. I collapsed on the couch, just as Isaac did. I was sure an uncomfortable silence would ensue, I didn't know what to say to him, he seemed so mysterious.

"So, you live next-door, huh?" Isaac asked uncomfortably, being the first to make an attempt at a conversation.

"Yea" I said "yea" he echoed, as if he had to repeat it for it to sink in.

"So, yea, Zac likes you.." He said, casually. I looked at him like he was crazy. "He does not" I said, smiling. Then added "You're crazy" "And YOU'RE blind!" I half laughed half scowled at him, just as Taylor walked in the room. "Saved by the dumb-bell!" Isaac said. Being in an exceptionally giddy mood, I burst out laughing. Taylor mocked me, so I pushed him. He stood with his hands on his hips. "Is that the BEST you can do?" he teased. I subtly grabbed a pillow and stood up. I conked Taylor in the head with the pillow and he went flying to the couch at the other side of the room. "OH! I see how it is!" Taylor squealed, laughing. He grabbed a pillow and hurled it at me, so I jumped on the couch and started hitting him repeatedly with the one I had. He grabbed another pillow and started hitting me back. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Isaac laughing at us, so I quickly grabbed a pillow from the love seat beside me, and threw it at him. It hit him square in the forehead. "HEY!" He yelled, joining the free for all. "Guyzzzzz!" A squeal was heard from outside the battle. We all stopped and looked up, curled in a ball, our hair flying up everywhere. "Next time you're going to have a pillow fight, TELL ME! I have some agression to take out on Taylor too, ya know!" We all laughed, and all of a sudden the fun in this was gone. So we got up. "We have to put the kids to bed now" Zac said "Already?" I asked. "YEP!" Taylor said. I looked at him oddly. He smiled. What a weirdo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"This is my favorite part!" I squealed. My excitement was followed by a loud 'shhhhh!' "Sorry" I whispered. All of us were so absorbed in the movie. When it was over, we all seemed to have that pensive tired feeling you always get after you watch a movie. It was neat, because we got into this really interesting discussion. We talked about all sorts of things. How girls see guys, vice versa, how guys REALLY think, it was so interesting. I'd never had a talk like this with a guy before, besides my brother, but like that counts, hes 12!

"No, I don't think guys base their love interests on looks. I mean, to start with, sure, what else is there to base it on? But I think, well guys like ME atleast, we base it on personality just as much as girls do!" Taylor babbled.

"Yeah, guys like YOU Tay, but whos like you? Who would WANT to be?" Zac teased.

I giggled, popping a potato chip into my mouth. Zacs teasing brought on playfulness, and then came another pillow fight. We soon found ourselves in the middle of a large war. We finally got tired and curled up and started talking again. Without even noticing it, I had curled up in Zacs arms, him cuddling me. When I finally noticed, I felt a confusing mix of love and worry. I felt love because, well, suddenly, I analyzed my feelings for Zac. Just right then, for the first time, I thought about the fact that Zac could be MORE than a friend. I felt worry because I didn't want him to find out. What if he didn't feel the same? What if it complicated things beyond beleif and I lost my new best friends?
