chapter 1~ the big move

"We're moving to Oklahoma? HICKVILLE??" Yes, a common reaction from a teenage girl who has to move. But unlike most that disagree with the idea, I know what Tulsa has to offer: Hanson. And I know what my little town in Canada DOESNT: fun! But all the same, when it was announced that we would be moving to OK in just one short month, I was not too keen on the idea! My parents tried to make me look forward to it by buying me gifts to be used in Tulsa. A brand new computer, complete with a working microphone and unlimited net time, AND a puppy! Normally, upon hearing that any one of those things would be mine in just one month I would be in heaven! But for some reason, it just made me feel MORE sad, like Oklahoma was going to be that bad, that I'd need all those things to keep me happy. And what if I didn't make any friends? But despite my beggind, pleading and arguing, a month later myself, my brother, my mum and dad boarded a plane to Tulsa, Oklahoma. After taking one last look at my tearful friends, I walked towards the plane that would be taking me to what would either be the best or worst time of my life..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Ad, would you quit moping and help unpack?" my mother asked. 'Fat chance' I thought. Unpacking was the last thing I wanted to do. It would make this whole moving thing final. One might wonder why I was so turned off by this whole thing. I ofter wondered myself! Its not like I was leaving anything too great behind (besides some of the best friends ever!), but for some reason, thats what it felt like. I had a new bedroom three times the size of my old one, the cutest computer, and on Monday we'd be going to pick out a puppy! Plus, when I went to school I'd have an advantage. Being the new girl, I could be whoever I wanted to be.

After emptying all the boxes and decorating the house to make it home, I went to sit out on the porch. I sat on the swing, where I could see all around me, but I was pretty hidden from what was going on around me. There were two boys playing catch with a football next door. Curiously enough, one greatly resembled the middle brother of my favorite band, Hanson. No, I'm not kidding. Bit I really doubted it was. Be looked a little too thin and pasty to be him, anyways. I watched for a bit, wondering what life here in Tulsa would be like, and then when inside when mum called saying it was dinner.

"Adrian, we're planning to do some looking around tomorrow, anything you wanna see?"

"I dunno" I sighed, my mind really wasn't with them, and I wasn't really in the mood for anything at all. Well, for the exception of flying home to Canada and hanging with my friends. After dinner, I decided to do the next best thing and go online and see if any of my friends were online. When I had reached my computer, I realized that it was still on from when I had downloaded ICQ, AIM and Yahoo Pager that morning. I could really get used to this unlimited tiff, me being the computer geek that I am. As soon as I made it known to my friends that I was online, they immediately started asking how Tulsa was. I pretended I was having an ok time so far, but in reality I just wanted to go home! I glanced out the bay window in my new room which looked out at my neighbors house (oh, yea, nice view) and saw that the middle Hanson brother look-alike was looking right back at me. But looking right at him I realized he actually was Taylor Hanson!

Embarassed that he was watching me, I blushed and turned my attention back to the computer. I told my friends I had to go and quickly left the room.
