WAYNE BATES

I met Wayne Bates while growing up in Klamath, California. He had just moved into the area and we were in 6th grade together. Wayne's father was in the air force and they lived up at the air force base in a duplex.

We became friends and found out that we had a lot in common. We both loved super heroes and comic books. Wayne wanted to be Batboy, his favorite super hero was Batman. I wanted to be Wonderboy. The Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter was popular at that time, and I also read the Avengers comic book with the super hero, Wonder Man, who was my favorite at the time. We drew comics together and called ourselves the Jr. Justice League. Patti was Wonder Girl, and Wayne's girlfriend was Batgirl. We created our own villains, such as Catgirl, Joker Jr., Princess Bee and Princess Hornet. Unfortunately, I got rid of all of my comics I drew when I moved to Ky.

Wayne's family moved out of state before I started 7th grade. We kept in touch for a long time. Shortly after my family moved to White Plains, we lost contact and I didn't hear from Wayne for many years.

I tried unsuccessfully for years to find Wayne. Eventually I did find him online. We talked about old times and tried to catch up on all of the years that we missed. Wayne was recently involved in a film project where he played a zombie.

The only pictures I have of Wayne were taken when he was a kid. If he ever sends me a current picture I will add it to this page.
