TIM JAMES
TIM JAMES

I met Tim James at Camp Jonothan Creek back in the summer of 1984. We became good pals at camp, although Tim was a bit Mischevious. He was a preacher's kid too.

We had some good times and I remember once at camp I was talking to a girl, and Tim came up behind me and pulled my shorts down. I was really embarassed.

The week I spent at camp was one of the most memorable and meaningful times during my life as a Christian.

After camp, I invited Tim to a big party at my house and we had a good time together. Most of the friends I had made at camp were there. We didn't get any sleep that night, but we had a lot of fun. I think we drove my mom crazy that night.

Tim had a crush on my sister, and so did most of the other guys. Come to find out, Tim's parents knew my parents and had attended the same college together. It's a small world!

Tim was into break dancing back then. He and Sammy Frederick were good friends.

I remember one New Years eve at Sammy's house when the electricity went out. The three of us got together several times, some times I went to Sammy's house, and other times the guys would come to the church where my dad preached. Once we played spin the bottle on the church steps with Lisa, Sandy and Keeley.

I had lost contact with Tim for several years, but got back in touch with him. I had the chance to visit Tim in Western Ky in September of 2001. We talked about the good times that we had together and it was nice getting to see my old buddy again after all these years. Tim is all grown up now and has a family of his own. He It just goes to show you that there is hope for us preacher's kids after all.
