The next three of my current five cats
are Honey (mom), Missy (daughter), and
Bud (son). Missy, Honey, and Smokey have
all been spayed, so there will be no
more kittens out of this batch of
felines. Honey had gotten pregnant
while I was in the process of moving
across town, and I was too busy to pay
much attention to a cat supposedly too
young to be in danger of such. Yeah,
right.
Honey seemed to have a normal pregnancy
up until the last week, then apparently
lost half her litter before they even
had a chance to be born. But the other
half survived, and she had two lovely
yellow kittens, the perfect image of
herself. For over a month, though, she
searched the apartment for the missing
two. She knew, somehow, that something
was missing. Such a good mom she was.
When the kittens were old enough,
everyone moved outside, and I didn't
even try to find homes for them. After
she'd had half her litter taken from
her, I didn't have the heart to take the
other half.
