RUFFIAN, by many she is considered the greatest racehorse filly of our century.... She raced in only 11 lifetime starts, breathtakingly winning all but one, her last, "The Match Race of the Decade" between champion filly Ruffian and Kentucky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure. This race was easily won by Ruffian, as she led the entire way, until that moment when she broke her leg... but didn't stop running....
