Today I had to go and investigate a continuing job that many people had worked on and no one was quite sure if it was complete.  Along with my capable trainee, Lawrence (Larry), we opened up two splices in a huge manhole
 
 

	This huge manhole had collected a lot of rain water and the irrigation runoff so I had to bring out the heavy duty hydraulic pump.  Another beautiful day in the Sacramento area.
	Here  my trainee Larry is opening a black plastic splice case called a 2-type.  It was developed by AT&T and is now being made by a company called PSI.  As you can see the manhole is big enough to be a comfortable and safe environment to work in.
