Rules of the Dojo
- Any member who commits an act which could have resulted in the Academy obtaining a bad name, is liable to immediate expulsion.
- Where at all possible members must avoid being involved in a fight, even if it means walking away from a challenge.
- Any member heard swearing in the Dojo is liable to immediate suspension and possible expulsion.
- Every member nust show respect for the instructors of the Dojo, the Dojo steward and all other members of the Academy at all times. They must assist them when requested to do so.
- Jewellery of any kind is not to be worn during the training session, this includes watches, earrings, studs and any form of necklace.
- Every member must be paid up to date with his/her subs. No rebates of fees is payable under any circumstances.
- Every member must have a uniform within 1 month before a white belt grading, and shall keep their uniform in a clean and repaired condition.
- Let your instructor know if you are going to miss training, inform the instructors either personally or through another member. This is particularly relevant if you are intending to be away for a few weeks or more. No credit will be given for your absence unless you do so advise.
- Smoking or the consumption of alcohol is prohibited during and immediatley before training.
- Alcohol is prohibited on the premises of the Dojo (special occasions excepted).
- No member is permitted to invite friends or others to the training periods, unless they have had previous permission to do so.
- Fingernails and toe nails must be kept clean and short at all times.
- Where possible members should not change, either before or after training in the Dojo.
- No member under blue belt, shall practice with weapons in the Dojo without prior permission.
- All inter school or inter Dojo visits by individuals or groups must have prior permission from either the chief or senior instructors.
- Long hair must be kept tied up or tidy, preferabl with a hair tie of the same colour as their present grade.
