Still Playing Hide and Seek?

At my memorial service, Pastor Kevin Meyers told about how his four-year-old son likes to play "hide and seek." Every night the son will get into bed and hide his head under the pillow. He then tells his dad to come and find him. Of course this is not too hard of a task. Because the son’s eyes are closed, and he can’t see anything, he thinks the dad cannot see him. Is that a childish game or not?

Well, God told me that most people on earth play that game with Him all their lives.

They have chosen to create their own set of beliefs and values, instead of the ones laid out in the Bible. He said this was the definition of sin. I happened not to be on earth long enough to be accountable for creating such false beliefs. If you are reading this, you are old enough.

Their conscience keeps trying to tell them to change their ways. (By the way this is the unction of the Holy Spirit.) But, they continue to play "hide and seek," not realizing that God does see them.

Pure and simple, if you are playing "hide and seek" with God, you are LOST.

If while reading this web site, and have feelings of guilt, you probably are LOST.

If you have been trying to earn your way to Heaven by doing good works, you are LOST. (Remember, it’s Amazing Grace, not Amazing Works.)

John (a neat fellow by the way) told me that "John 3:16" was probably the most important verse in the Bible -- "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

Jesus Christ has already paid the price for our sins, so that we can have everlasting life. All you have to do is accept this sacrifice as being for you. If you know I’m right, but refuse to accept it, it’s a pride problem.

Those who have never accepted this sacrifice by professing their belief in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, have not had their sins forgiven. And Yes, they are LOST, meaning they will never have the opportunity to see me up here in Heaven.

Being "born again" can even remove that feeling of guilt you may be having.

If the Holy Spirit is urging you right now, you can pray this prayer in earnest:

Lord God:

I acknowledge I am a sinner, and have been playing hide and seek.

I am sorry for my sins, and ask for you to forgive me.

I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins.

I believe that he rose from the dead and lives today.

I accept this free gift, by the Grace of God.

Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, contact a pastor of a Bible believing church and seal it by telling him what you have done. He/she will tell you your next step.
Your name is now in the "Book of Life."

For those who elect not to believe, thinking that it’s all a bunch of bologna……… (By the way, I never did have the chance to eat a bologna sandwich.)…………….

Please understand that God gave you the CHOICE of free will. You therefore have every right to reject the message of salvation. But what if I’m right (or the person who is being led by the Holy Spirit to write this for me is right)?

Let me suggest that your next assignment be to read Revelation 20:11-15.

If you don’t believe, what harm will it do to read it?

After reading it, ask yourself, "What if the passage is true?"
