The venue: Offpspring Show in Munich, Germany "Kunstpark Ost"
Date: 9/3/99
Attendance: maybe 3,000
No soundcheck this time !!!
Setlist: Place in the sun, Down, Miserable, No big thing, Zip-Lock,
Money (M.O.W.E.-b-side !!!), My own worst enemy, Bitter, Four
This was going to be one of the last open-air shows for this year
here in Germany and it was a nice sunny day here in Munich to party
with some great people and some great bands like Silverchair, The
Offspring, a band called A from england, Joe Strummer (ex-member of
THE CLASH) and of course LIT !!!
LIT was going to be the second band to perform and only a few people
were already standing in front of the stage so I relaxed and went to
the T-shirt sale in hope to find some new cool LIT shirts I saw on
their official webpage !!
But they only had some shirts for girls and the usual stickers so I
decided to make my way to the front and to get ready for LIT !!!
This was really the youngest crowd I have ever seen at a festival !
Thousands of little teenage girls with Silverchair shirts along with
their mums and dads who were really afraid of letting their kids rock
alone !!!
So I was standing right in front of the stage, surrounded by very
small people and feeling like a grandpa !!!
As LIT entered the stage I was wondering how the crowd would react
this time !
After the usual starting ceremony were Jeremy plays the same cool
chords every time until A. Jay enters the stage, they started of with
"A place in the sun" which was really a surprise cause I thought they
would start with "Four" again and "A place in the sun" fits better at
the end of a show !!!
I started to jump up and down and all the people stared at me again
like they did in Cologne two weeks ago when I was the only one who
seemed to know the band and who was singing along with them !!!
Some small girls behind me really complained about my actions and
asked me to stop jumping because I was hurting their feet !
I told them that I really love the music and that I just cant stop
showing the band how much I like it !!!
And of course they were Silverchair fans and they didn t want to
leave their position !
I tried to calm down a little bit in order not to hurt any of the
small kids around but when they played "Miserable" I had no chance
but to go nuts again !
Some guys from the back who seemed to know the band tried to make
their way up to me and I invited them to jump around with me !!!
Jeremy always seemed to notice me when I tried to get eye contact
with the band !!!
He pointed at me and so I knew that he appreciated my attempt to
create more energy in the audience !!!
A. Jay really rocked the place and he introduced "Money" as a b-side
of M.O.W.E and he had to do it cause most of the people didn t even
know the band so how could they know the b-sides !
On the one hand I was sad that nobody knew any of the songs except
for "My own worst enemy", but on the other hand I was proud that I
even knew the lyrics of "Money" !!!
And although I dont know if the band really noticed me I am pretty
sure that they did !!!
"Bitter" was again a nice surprise and A.Jay asked the people how
many of them already bought "A place in the sun" and about 7 people
raised their arms !
I was so close to the small stage that I thought they would hear me
when I shouted out: "I EVEN HAVE THE OLD ALBUM" !!!" and they did !!!
Everybody around me was laughing cause I was so fu..ing crazy about
this band !!!
After 35 minutes they closed their set with "Down" and the crowd
really was jumping around a little bit to this tune !!!
Jeremy threw some guitar picks in the crowd and I managed to get one
from a guy who catched it in front of me !
Thanx man !!!
I was totally wet cause the sun made me sweat a lot of course and I
felt strange cause I was the only one in the whole audience who had a
wet t-shirt at this early part of the festival !!!
Suddenly some roadie came up and he was handing out promo tapes to
the fans !
I noticed that something was going on at the side entrance of the
stage and suddenly I saw Jeremy standing their with the rest of the
band handing out more tapes and giving autographs !
It was so great to meet the guys and I talked to Jeremy while he was
writing autographs on promo tapes !! I told him about the german fans and your webpage JESS !!!
And he promised me that they will return for a small clubtour in
january/february next year here in Germany. (Hey
Jeremy hope you like my review, we will bring a lot of Jaegermeister
to the next show in order to party with you guys backstage !!!) !
Then they went on to the showers and escaped in their tour bus !
All the chicks were totally mad about the guys and I was happy to
hear some fine music and to be able to talk to them !!!
I hope they still will be so nice to their fans when they are big
even here in Europe and when they return for a headliner tour !!!
Thanx again for a great show !!!
See you guys next time....

The venue: Bizarre Festival in Cologne (Germany)
Date: 8/20/99
Attendance: maybe 5,000 (cause they were the opener and most of the
people stayed on the camping ground !)
Soundcheck: Down, My own worst enemy, Bitter
Setlist: Four, Down, Miserable, Zip-Lock, My own worst enemy, Bitter
It was about four hours before the festival was about to begin when I
was sitting in front of my tent and suddenly heard a familiar sound
coming from somewhere near the center stage !
And yes I was right it was LIT doing the soundcheck !
I dropped my beer immediately and tried to get in but the security
didn t let me pass through the gate that early and so I had to listen
to them at the main entrance !
They tried a few songs and then it was silent again and I returned to
my tent to hang out with my friends again !
That was a really nice beginning for my LIT - day and I was even more
excited about the upcoming show than I was anyway !
But I had to wait a little longer !
Me and my friends arrived very early after we spent the first nite on
the camping ground.
Everybody was happy that the festival was about to begin and we
managed to get in the first row cause there were only a few people
around who left their tents in order to see LIT !
I was very nervous cause I just couldn t believe that they would
really play here in germany.
It was very cloudy that day and I was wondering how LIT would feel
about the weather cause they are used to other temperatures :-) !!!
They were scheduled to 3.30 p.m. but the roadies needed too much time
to prepare the stage and so the few people who managed to get their
asses up so "early" became angry and tried to insult the roadies by
shouting "Fuck you" at them all the time !
At 4.00 p.m. they finally entered the stage and I was going totally
nuts !
It was kinda funny cause I was the only one who seemed to know them
and so everybody was staring at me and wondering why I was so fucking
crazy about this "band of nobodies" !
I was singing along loud with every lyric and that made my situation
even worse cause it was kinda embarrassing standing in a crowd where
nobody but you was going crazy about a band !
Anyway some people seemed to like the fast sound of LIT and they were
starting a mosh pit that I immediately entered in order to have some
fun with my favourite band !
Some guys were crowdsurfing and I did the same !
The band was wearing the same outfit as in Woodstock and when I heard
the first few chords of "Miserable" I didn t care about anybody
around and just jumped around like hell and had a fantastic time
(yeah..yeah.. you make me come...yeah yeah !!!!! Thanx so much guys
that you played it !!!)
"My own worst enemy" was a song a few of the people there recognized
cause they put it on high rotation on music channels here in germany
recently !
That was of course the best part of the show cause all the other
people who were just standing there and listening joined in and made
the whole scene a big big jumping mosh pit !
"Bitter" was a nice surprise cause I hoped they would play some old
stuff !
I really enjoyed the show although I would have been better if more
people had known them !
But I think they will be big in europe too very soon !
And when they return for a club tour you can be sure that there are
some die hard fans even here in germany !!!
Hope that happens someday in the near future !
I look forward to seeing them again in two weeks in Munich when they
support The Offspring !!!
What more can a band like Offspring desire than a band like LIT
opening for them and making everybody hungry for more !???
LIT MANIAC...Danny

The concert was soooo awesome. Yes we met the band and hung out with
them for
like an hour at the concert. I was talking to Jeremy and discussing
tatoos
and he loved me after I said that Frank Sinatra was "the best
entertainer
ever" and A.Jay was hella suprised on how much I knew about him. People
were
asking me like how old everyone was and where they were from and stuff.
It
was cool. A.Jay's eyes totally got all big and suprised when I was like
"You
were born in Palm Springs right?" It was bitchin'. Allen, was very
kicked
back hugged me a couple times, but my favorite was Kevin. He had his
arm
around me the majority of the time he was signing autographs and he
called me
Sweetheart constantly and he kept asking for hugs and stuff because he
was
telling me how sweet and nice I was. So I told them about the horse
racing
place down the street and they were like "cool" and Kevin got a Lit
sticker
and wrote to me to meet them at the races, so I did. It was great. I
will
never forget that night. I got along with the merchandise guy too. He
tours
with the band and stuff and has known them for about 6 years. He was
hella
cool and he helped me out with meeting them a lot. So, I got my stomach
autographed by all of them and they drew all over my five dollar bill.
Jeremy
put a long beard on Abe and side burns so it looks like him and they
all
signed it. They signed my friend's and brother's stuff and then my
brother
got behind the merchandise counter with the band and I and he started
signing
girl's buts and stuff. It was hella cool. Man, I will never forget that
night
and no concert will ever ever compare.
Forever Golden,
Carissa

Lit has to be one of the best, hottest, and nicest bands ever. I have been
to two Lit concerts and I have met the band twice. I think that is so cool
that they take the time out to meet their fans!
The first time I met them was at their Eve6-Lit show, May 1, 1999 in
Seattle. Lit was the opening act, and sorry Eve 6, but Lit stole the show!
They totally kicked ass. And afterwards my friend kept running into the
band
memebers one by one. They were just hanging out, not even making a scene.
I
got a hug from each of them--and their autograph of course--and I even
managed to kiss A.Jay on the cheek!
The second time I met them was at the Van's Warped Tour on July 8th. My
friend and I went their with "Lit loves me" on our faces cause that's what
they signed on us at the previous concert. We made total asses out of
ourselves for lit, but it was totally worth it! As my friend and I were
enjoying ZebraHead performing, we spotted Kevin on the side of the stage.
We
ditched that performance, and called Kevin over to us. We hung out for a
while, got some pics and autographs, and let him enjoy ZebraHead. As we
wondered some more, we spot A.Jay, so we track him down and do the same.
We
even got a picture of myself and my friend kissing him. We both got on one
side so that our face paint was showing, and he had his arms around us
smiling. It's sooo cool! We ran into the others throughout the day, and
kept
running into them. At the end of the day, they did a cd signing, and we
were
in the front of the line. We got a lot of stuff signed, and we got to hang
out for a while longer. After not talking to them for half the day, I had
A.Jay sign a promo poster, he goes "sure, how do you spell your name again
Jana" I know it's not much, but it made my day!
So now, I have my walls decorated with Lit autographs, posters, and the
awesome pictures I have of me and Lit!
The two follow are from Marlena
I saw Lit for the first time on June 20, 1999. It was an all day music
thing. The New Rock 104 Birthday Bash in Fresno, CA. Lit, Zebrahead,
Smash Mouth, The Living End, Videodrone, Hate Dept., Orgy, and the
Brodys were there. I came mainly to see Lit, Zebrahead and Orgy. I met
Zebrahead, Hate Dept., Trav from TLE and Ryan, Paige, and Amir from
Orgy and then Lit came on stage at about 7:30. Tanisha and I were up
front and it was so rad. We sang along to all the songs: "Four", "Down"
"Miserable", "Zip-Lock", "My Own Worst Enemy" and "No Big Thing".
Justin from Zebrahead came onstage and helped them sing "MOWE". He
tried to take off A.Jay's pants and he ended up doing it himself and we
all had the pleasure of seeing A.Jay's cute butt ;) After, Lit was signing
and we waited in line and the first Lit man was Kevin. He was really
friendly and talkative. He shook my hand and wrote "Marlena-Thanks.
Have a cool summer" on my CD. Next was Jeremy. I didn't really say
much to him (what was I thinking?!). Then it was A.Jay and he wrote my
name then looked up and I said "I just have to tell you that I love you"
and he just smiled and stood up and hugged me! He smelled really, really
yummy! Then I took a picture with him! He signed my CD "Marlena-
Thanks Cutie!! =) xo A.Jay" Last but not least was Allen and he SEEMED
sad. I didn't really talk to him either (once, again: WHAT WAS I
THINKING?!) So I walked away (on air really!) and I was (am) just
beyond happy. It was that moment that I became A LOT more interested
in who Lit IS (I already knew they are an amazing, talented band!) and
now I know SO much about them =) Then I found out they were coming to
Fresno AGAIN on July 20 and after a lot of begging of my mother, I got
my ticket and had another amazing concert experience . . . On July 20, we
arrived at the concert at around 6 and made our way up front while the
Dickies were performing and then when Lit came on we kept our places.
We were second "row" back and it was so amazing! They performed
"Down", "Four", "BITTER" (I was like the only one singing along with
them!), "My Own Worst Enemy", "A Place In the Sun", "Happy",
"Miserable", "Quicksand", and "Zip-Lock" not in that exact order. They
ALL looked good! Jeremy was like five feet away from me just playing
away and A.Jay came over to our side a lot and Kevin did once. Allen was
playing his drums happily. I got smashed and stepped on but it was all
worth it. We got some good shots! It was the best concert I've been to
and I've been to many. I'm glad Lit played more songs this time. So,
after they performed me, my friend Tanisha, and my sister Daniella went
over to the merchandise place and I bought the blue Lit t-shirt with the
flame and dice, the flame and dice Lit sticker, the circular Lit sticker,
and a Lit necklace. I love the necklace. It's so cute! Then we watched
some of the Offspring and I'm glad they played the old stuff and at
about 9:55 or something we left to go get some food and then go to the
bowling alley. When we got there, they had to check the guestlist and I
had to show them ID and then they assigned us lane 14. After getting a
pair of those groovy 70's bowling shoes we sat around a bit before they
opened up the lanes. Lit wasn't there yet. On the TV screens they
showed some different versions of "My Own Worst Enemy": live, the
music video. They also showed them crusing around in Jeremy's tight pink
Cadillac. Very nice. I think it was about 11 when they showed up and they
had us stand in a line and we could only have them sign one thing and I had
a picture of A.Jay onstage that I had taken and I wanted him to sign it.
Plus, they had some of those album cover things. You know, it's bigger
than the album and it's like an advertisement. Anyway, Jeremy was the
first Lit man at the table and I was like "Hi Jeremy" and then he said hi
and smiled and then I asked if I could take a picture with him and he was
like sure so I went around to where he was and he put his arm around me
and he has very soft skin and kind eyes. He was really nice and friendly.
The FIRST time I met him I didn't really say much but I learned my
lesson! Then he asked how to spell my name and he signed the paper.
Next was Kevin. I said "Hey Kevin how are you?" and he seemed kind of
taken back but he was smiling and was like "I'm fine". I can't remember
the exact words and then he signed my paper and I told him I wanted to
take a picture with him and he's like "No you don't" and I was like "Yes I
do" and this went on a few more times and then he like "I'll take one with
you later on", smiling. For the record, we never took a picture! It's OK.
Next time! And then . . . A.Jay (he had on a bowling shirt from the
bowling alley that said "AMF Bowler of the Week". I saw him when he
noticed what was on his shirt and he was like (to Kevin) "Check out what
my shirt says". He was really "Happy". I first said "Hi A.Jay, what kind
of cologne do you wear?" and he kind of looked at me strange but a good
strange!. Then I said that when I met him last he smelled really good and
he said it was probably coffee patchouli oil but he liked to try out new
stuff and he had on a new one and he asked me if it smelled good and he
held his wrist up for me to smell!!!! And it was heavenly. And I forgot to
get the name of it! Then I told him that I got my passes from a close
friend of the band and he said that was very cool and was smiling. Then I
took a picture with him after he signed my paper and the picture. Oh, and
he had on gold glitter nail polish and I took a picture of his hands because
I told him that I liked his nailpolish and rings. Last but not least was
Allen and he and I had an interesting conversation. I told him the last
time that I met him he seemed really sad and that I was wondering why
and he was like "I did? When did to you meet me?" and I told him it was
a month ago today and he was like "It was because it was Father's Day
and I wasn't home" and I felt so bad. When I took a picture with him he
was like, "I'll smile really big for you". All that took about five, seven
minutes more or less. It was so much fun. So we went back to bowling
and it was already after midnight and we had 45 minute drive ahead of us
and I was tired and they were finishing up signing and we decided to leave
because I had summer school and Daniella and Tanisha had work the next
day. I kind of wish we could have seen them bowl but I met them again
and I got more pictures so that is more than I could ask for. I can always
watch "My Own Worst Enemy" to see them bowl right? But it was the
best experience. Well, meeting them the first time and the second are the
TWO best experiences. I am walking on air still. The guys are all so nice
and it's obvious they are all good friends. They were all so relaxed and
calm. All these people wanting to meet them didn't even phase them. They
don't have a superior attitude and that is beyond cool. Tanisha accused
me of flirting. I couldn't help it! Hello? I was conversing with these
four GORGEOUS guys who happen to be members of one of my favorite
bands! Well, maybe someday I'll see them again for the third time!
Peace, <3, and LIT!
