Bangladesh army
On 19-20 February 2010 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. Many indigenous houses were burnt down including Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Members of the Bangladesh army in CHT.

Bangladesh army sexually harassed an indigenous Chakma girl in Naniarchar

On 4 December 2012 Bangladesh army sexually harassed an indigenous Chakma girl in Naniarchar while military forces were distributing winter clothes to the poor people at an open ground inside Naniachar zone headquarters under Naniarchar sub-district in Rangamati district.

On that day zone commander of Naniarchari zone Lieutenant Colonel Khaled distributed winter clothes to the poor people at an open ground inside Naniachar zone headquarters. During the distribution, a huge number of poor people were waiting in the long queue. Ms. Rita Chakma (23) wife of Chikke Chakma from Morachengi village of Sabekhyong union under Naniarchar sub-district also came to collect winter clothes there. At that time, a duty soldier of Bangladesh army in civil dress of that zone touched her breast while distributing clothes, then and there she slapped him and started beating him angrily with her sandal continuously.

However, the Bangladesh army of Naniarchar zone did not take any action against the alleged soldier. The name of alleged soldier could not be known.
