Chakma mother and victim of Teknaf
On 30 May 2012 Bangladesh police and Muslim settlers raided indigenous Buddhist villages of Howaikyong area under Teknaf in Cox’s Bazaar. In this attack 12 Chakma villagers were severely wounded. 7 Chakma villagers including 4 minors were arrested without warrant. One pregnant woman prematurely gave birth to a baby due to torture and several women were sexually harassed.

Bengali settlers kill an indigenous Tripura woman in Matiranga

On 22 August 2012, Muslim settlers killed Phul Kumari Tripura w/o Kamala Kumar Tripura of Sudhina Ranjan Headman Para of Matiranga in Khagrachari district.

On that day Phul Kumari Tripura went out for fishing at nearby stream. As she was being late, relatives of the victim searched for her and found her dead body near the stream near Sudhina Ranjan Headman Para which is closed to a Muslim settlement. Indigenous villagers believe that she might have been killed by Muslim settlers. Deep cut marks were found on her body.
