On 9 May 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers raped and killed an indigenous Buddhist girl Miss. Sujata Chakma (11) daughter of late Mr. Jyotish Chandra Chakma and Ms. Mongala Devi Chakma of Ultachari area of Atarakchara union under Longadu sub-district in Rangamati district. The victim was a student of year 4 of Ultachari Government Primary School. Muslim settlers killed the girl by mutilating on the neck with a sharp weapon.

Bengali settlers rape an indigenous Tripura girl in Fatikchari

On 5 June 2012 Muslim settlers raped a 12-year old indigenous Tripura girl at Baladhuram Para of Taindong union under Fatikchari upazila (sub-district) in Chittagong district.

On that day the parents went to Koiyachara tea estate to collect ration while the victim was alone at the house of Baladhuram Para of Taindong union under Fatikchari upazila. Finding her alone at around 6.00 pm, truck driver Mohamed Ramzan (35) and helper Mohamed Hasan raped the victim. Hearing scream of the victim, villagers rushed there and rescued the victim.

No case was filed so far. Rapists threatened to the parents of the victim to compromise the matter and not to lodge any case. Jaliram Tripura is poor labourer in a tea farm.
