Victim of Bangladesh Army Torture
On 4 August 2008 a group of Bangladesh army personnel led by Capt. Tanvir demanded few chickens from Buddhist villagers Mr. Tonchongya of Belaichari. When Mr. Tonchongya refused the Muslim soldiers of Bangladesh army blind folded him and tortured him resulting in the fracture of his right leg. Thereafter Tanvir forced the local village chief Anil Chandra Tonchongya and Doctor Priya Dorshi to sign a statement stating that Mr. Tonnyapu Tonchongya got his leg fractured while running away from the army.

Bengali settlers attack A Tripura shopkeeper at Sindukchari

On 23 November 2010, a Muslim settler named Khairul Islam attacked Bishwachan Tripura (42) of Sindukchari village, Mahalchari.

During an altercation regarding business transaction, Khairul Islam suddenly hit Bishwachan Tripura on his head with stick. Mr. Tripura became senseless. He was taken to army hospital (army camp) near the Sindukchari bazar. The people who were present at the time of incident brought Khairul Islam to the Camp Commander but Camp Commander did not take any action against him. At a stage, the culprit could escape. Relatives of Biswchan Tripura went to the police station to file a case but police did not accept the case.

Khairul Islam was a defendant of murder case of Ponemala Tripura of Sindukchari village. Muslim settlers had been trying to uproot Bishwachan Tripura from this market. Relatives believe that the attack was made as part of uprooting him from his business.
