Bangladesh army
On 19-20 February 2010 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. Many indigenous houses were burnt down including Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Members of the Bangladesh army in CHT.

Bangladesh army searches 5 indigenous Chakma houses in Kaokhali

On 5 April 2010, the Bangladesh army searched 5 indigenous Chakma houses, as the members of Mrs. Jharna Dewan’s family conducted funeral for her at Talukderpara village in Kaokhali of Rangamati district. 2 Muslim settlers murdered her on 29 March 2010 over a land dispute.

The Bangladesh army personnel from Kaokhali camp searched the houses of Sona Muni Chakma and Amalendu Chakma of Talukderpara and Baranda Chakma and Jubo Lal Chakma of Ullapara and Sunil Chakma of Panchari. The Bangladesh army also interrogated Jagadish Chakma, Headman of Ullapara and Sukumar Karbari of Ullapara village.
