Dear Foreign Minister

I am writing to express my grave concern for Japan’s financial aid to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh government has been systematically violating human rights against the ethnic and religious minorities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The aid provided by Japan is used to settle thousands of Bengali settlers in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The settlers are involved in rapes, massacres and abduction of indigenous people and occupation of indigenous land.

Bangladesh is one of the most corrupt countries on earth. Bangladesh has a long history of using foreign aid in war against the religious and ethnic minorities. For example Japanese funded aid is used to buy military equipment. Please do not send financial or any aid to Bangladesh. There are many deserving countries with good governance where Japan can send her aid. If you meet the Bangladeshi government officials in future, please raise the human rights of the indigenous people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Thank you for your time.

Yours truly,
