On 29 May 2025 at around 9 pm, a Muslim settler named Muhammad Anisur Rahman (30) attempted to rape a Chakma housewife (25). Muhammad Anisur Rahman alias Buddhi is the son of Chan Mia of Jamtali village in Mahalchari, Khagrachari district.

Bangladeshi settler attempted to rape indigenous housewife in Mahalchari

On 29 May 2025 at around 9 pm, a Muslim settler named Muhammad Anisur Rahman (30) attempted to rape a Chakma housewife (25). Muhammad Anisur Rahman alias Buddhi is the son of Chan Mia of Jamtali village in Mahalchari, Khagrachari district.

According to the victim’s sources, the victim’s husband was not at home that night. Muhammad Anisur Rahman, forcibly broke the door and entered the house.

The victim was sleeping with her 11-month-old child. The accused tried to rape the victim. He even snatched the 11-month-old child from the victim and threw it on the ground.

When the victim tried to defend herself, Muhammad Anisur Rahman dragged her to the paddy field and tried to rape her. When the victim screamed, the victim’s brother-in-law and relatives who were nearby came to rescue her and Muhammad Anisur Rahman fled.

Later, when the incident came to light, the victim was sent to Khagrachari Hospital for treatment that night.

It is worth noting that Muhammad Chan Mia, the father of the accused Muhammad Anisur Rahman is a member of the Bangladesh Ansar Bahini.
