On 5 April 2017, Bangladesh army arrested Romel Chakma (19) from Naniarchar Bazar in Rangamati district. Bangladesh army took him to Naniarchar zone headquarters. Lt. Col. Bahalul Alam and Major Tanvir inhumanly tortured him. On 19 April 2017 at 2:00 pm Romel Chakma died during treatment under police custody in Chittagong Medical College hospital. When Romel Chakma's parents and relatives were taking his dead body by boat from Burighat bazar to Hatimara village on 20 April, Bangladesh army snatched the dead body from Ronnel Chakma's relatives at gun point and burned the dead body to ashes in a secret place to destroy evidence.

Bangladesh army murder 3 indigenous activists in Dighinala

On 25 August 2019, Bangladesh army from Baradam camp murdered 3 indigenous activists in Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

Bangladesh army issued an Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) press release on 26 August 2019 and said that a shootout took place with a patrol team of Bangladesh army in the Boradam and 3 were killed in a 'gunfight'.

In reality Bangladesh army murdered the indigenous acitivists in cold blood. Bangladesh army arrested them from a home at Kripapur and killed them at Binandachokh in Dighinala.

The victims are:

  1. Mr. Bujendra Lal Chakma (45)
  2. Mr. Nabeen Jyoti Chakma (32)
  3. Mr. Rashil Chakma (25)
