In January 2017, a Muslim settler sexually harassed 5 indigenous minor girls in Barkal, Rangamati district. The Muslim settler was identified as Rezaul Karim, assistant teacher of Barkal Aimachara Sakrachari Primary School. The Muslim settler working as teacher sexually harassed the indigenous children of class 5 and 2 for many days.

The parents of the victims complained to the Head Master of Barkal Aimachara Sakrachari Primary School regarding the issue but they didn’t get any justice.
