On 19-20 February 2010 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. Many indigenous houses were burnt down including Buddhist temples. Bangladesh army conduct military operation in Panchari

On 19 January 1996, more than 200 personnel of the Bangladesh Army from the Panchari Military Zone conducted a search campaign in the hilly and forested areas of Logang, Tarabanya and Pujgang Mukh of Panchari. Having failed to capture any Shanti Bahini, they harassed the indigenous Buddhist villagers.
