On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.
Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari
On 12 Nov. 1986, Bangladesn army of 32 EBR from the army camp at Hazachara led by Capt. Yusuf carried out a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist people of Jantra Nath Karbari Para in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district.
During the operation Bangladesh army severely beat many innocent indigenous persons. Bangladesh army rounded up the victims from their homes at night and took them to the primary school of the village. At the primary school Bangladesh army severely beat the indigenous villagers. The victims are:
