Chanchala Chakma victim of Bangladesh Police firing
On 30 June 2013 Bangladesh police opened fire on indigenous Buddhist people in south Khabongpujya area of Khagrachari district. An indigenous Buddhist woman identified as Chanchala Chakma (50) was seriously injured by the rubber bullets.

Bangladesh army arrest 3 indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 7 Nov. 1986, about 500 soldiers of Bangladesh army carried out a military operation against the indigenous people in Banduk Ghanga and Naniachar Unions in Rangamati district. During the operation, Bangladesh army arrested the following indigenous Chakma Buddhists.

  1. Mr. Ajanta Vijay Chakma (25), son of Mr. Shanti Mohan Chakma of Rangamati.
  2. Mr. Neelo Padma Chakma (24), son of Mr. Noromya Chakma of Firingya Para, Naniachar.
  3. Mr. Jagat Jyoti Chakma (35), son of Mr. Fulo Raj Chakma of Sawkuri Beel, Naniachar.
