On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. A Chakma couple pick up the pieces after the house was burnt down by the settlers.

Bangladesh army and settlers terrorize indigenous people in Longadu

On 22 July 1985, Muslim settlers in league with Bangladesh army from Tintilla Army Camp led by 2nd Leut. Mohsin attacked indigenous people in Longadu, Rangamati district during Longadu Upazilla election. Many indigenous men were beaten and indigenous women were raped.

Muslim settler candidate Abdul Rashid Sarkar realising a certain defeat in the poll, hatched a conspiracy with the help of Bangladesh Army. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers rigged the election by violence and Abdul Rashid Sarkar became the Chairman of Longadu Upazilla. Muslim settlers and Bangladesh Army jointly attacked the indigenous Buddhist people during the election. Many indigenous people suffered injuries including death. The victims are:

1. Hegera Chakma (55), son of Nama Chandra Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
2. Gobo Chakma (50), wife of Hegera Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was also beaten.
3. Shukra Kanta Chakma (15), son of Ulloman Chakma of Komolya Chari, Longadu. He was physically tortured.
4. Nagthia Chakma (35), son of Muramajya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was beaten with sticks.
5. Haga Chakma (32), son of Muramajya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was beaten mercilessly till he became senseless.
6. Muramajya Chakma (75), son of Rajapati Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was beaten to death.
7. Nagar Chan Chakma (35), son of Gajalya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten till he lost consciouness.
8. Badi Mila Chakma (26), wife of Nagar Chan Chakma of Korolya Chari. She was raped and left in senseless condition.
9. Chinta Devi Chakma (32), wife of Bogota Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was raped.
10. Sumati Bala Chakma (35), wife of Ranga Mua Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was also raped.
11. Rajani Kanta Chakma (60), son of Shobha Purna Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He contested for Chairmanship in the Upazilla election. He was inhumanly beaten, harrassed and abused by 2nd Leut. Mohsin.
12. Nandi Bala Chakma (25), wife of Firingya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was gang raped. She was left in unconscious and bleeding condition.
13. Mahendra Chakma (70), wife of Nana Kazi Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was beaten.
14. Firingya Chakma (35), son of Swargadhon Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was severely beaten and tortured.
15. Nalini Mohan Chakma (30), son of Tatya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was mercilessly beaten.
16. Dhenga Chakma (21), son of Kanya Ram Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was a victim cf inhuman physical tortures. Water mixed with chillies was poured through his mouth.
17. Bangali Chan Chakma (45), son of Nagendra Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
18. Anadi Ranjan Chakma (42), son of Aha Chandra Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was inhumanly tortured.
19. Sadhon Muni Chakma (41), son of Buddha Muni Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
20. Surajoy Moni Chakma (43), son of Nitya Nanda Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was also beaten.
21. Mano Ranjan Chakma (44), son of Anu Chandra Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
22. Rajendra Chakma (35), son of Nabin Kanta Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was inhumanly tortured.
23. Priti Bindu Chakma (24), son of Krana Kanta Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was hung upside down and had water poured through his nose and mouth.
24. Shanti Chakma (11), son of Rabana Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was also beaten.
25. Lipika Chakma (30), wife of Robi Mohan Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was gang raped by the Bangladesh army personnel.
26. Mangala Kanta Chakma (45), son of Muramajya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
27. Braja Bala Chakma (45), wife of Ulloman Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was raped and her gold ornaments were robbed.
28. Shanti Jiban Chakma (9), son of Tigirikya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was beaten with sticks.
29. Laxmi Joy Chakma (10), son of Ulloman Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was also beaten.
30. Kesha Mohan Chakma (46), son of Bija Mohan Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was a victim of inhuman physical tortures.
31. Jerbua Mukhi Chakma (40), uife of Tigirikya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. She was raped by the army personnel.
32. Manu Dhon Chakma, (35), son of Ahrbua Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was inhumanly tortured.
33. Miyo Mohan Chakma (40), son of Chandra Kumar Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
34. Laxmi Ranjan Chakma (18), son of Tigirikya Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was beaten with stick.
35. Rajan Chakma (50), son of Kalachoga Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was serverely beaten.
36. Jarajoy Chakma (30), son of Inanda Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was severely beaten and physically tortured.
37. Robindra Chakma (30), son of Paramoni Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was inhumanly tortured.
38. Nagar Chan Chakma (52), son of Sobhapurna Chakma of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was inhumanly beaten because his brother contested in the Upazilla election.
39. Durachya Chakma (49), of Korolya Chari, Longadu. He was attacked with sticks due to which he suffered an injury on the hip.
40. Buddha Dhon Chakma (18), son of Jalya Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten at the polling centre.
41. Salya Chakma (50), of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
42. Anil Mala Chakma (33), daughter of Rijapya Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. She was brutally raped.
43. Sashi Bala Chakma (35), of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. She was brutally raped.
44. Shanti Bihari Chakma (35), son of Rangachula Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten and tortured.
45. Apendra Chakma (40), of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten till he became senseless.
46. Kina Ram Chakma (52), son of Tuchya Ram Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was mercilessly beaten.
47. Suresh Bihari Chakma (26), son of Kina Ram Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten and tortured.
48. Krona Mohan Chakma (49), of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was also inhumanly tortured.
49. Satej Ranjan Chakma (52), son of Kamani Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
50. Namita Chakma (35), wife of Bimalendu Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. Bangladesh army brutally raped her and robbed her gold ornaments.
51. Monimoy Chakma (22), son of Abani Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten and tortured.
52. Laxmi Chakma (50), of Sonai, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
53. Basu Kumar Chakma (56), of Sonai, Longadu. Bangladesh army severely beat him and broke one of his hands.
54. Kamani Mohan Chakma (46), son of Shree Dhon Chakma of Dano Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten and tortured.
55. Prana Mohan Chakma (42), son of Kishto Chandra Chakma of Deno Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was also beaten.
56. Nalani Mohan Chakma (40), son of Rizap Chandra Chakma of Deno Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was mercilessly beaten.
57. Satya Lila Chakma (40), of Deno Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
58. Kirtiman Chakma (30), son of Lendu Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was attacked with deadly weapon due to whigh he suffered an injury on the head.
59. Raja Mohan Chakma (34), son of Bhula Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was stabbed.
60. Bhakta Karbari (50), son of Dar Karbari of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was severely beaten.
61. Suresh Mohan Chakma (33), son of Rameshya Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was beaten.
62. Amrita Prasad Chakma (44), son of Nirendra Karbari of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. Bangladesh army beat and tortured him.
63. Ciji Chakma (30), son of Biraj Moni Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. He was also beaten and tortured.
64. Ugudi Chakma (28), wife of Bindu Kumar Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. Bangladesh army gang raped her and robbed her gold ornaments.
65. Shanti Bala Chakma (25), wife of Nagara Chakma of Bamo Atarak Chara, Longadu. Bangladesh army gang raped her.
