On 20 April 2008 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked and burnt down 76 indigenous Buddhist houses in Sajek. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhist villagers and grab their land. The indigenous Chakma Buddhists and their burnt down houses after the attack.

On ll January 1985, Bangladesh army from Bhaibon Chara camp in Longadu raided the house of Mr. Birabahu Chakma (27), son of Mr. Panga Chakma of Rana Chara in Longadu, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army woke him up at 2 a.m. by beating him with guns. The army robbed his goats, fowls and other valuables and forced him to carry the booty to the army camp.
Again Bangladesh army raided his house on l8 January 1985. Bangladesh army took him to the army camp, tortured
him and threw him into a dirty pit.
