Words, Words, Words…

Suddenly (you) Smile

Precious Time revealed resiliant feelings
and trailing not far behind were resiliant fears
You forget how to say what you really mean
because a puzzle of attributes is still on the floor.
Suddenly you smile after months of pouring rain
and you remember where you left your car keys
Everything is wonderful but really it's the calm before the storm
You accept flowers and poetry, dinner and coffees
but you never thought eating your words would go down so hard
I've known beggers, theives, princes and pimps
catagories and stages depending on my position
I suppose it never would have worked out anyway
we're further down from where we started
but I didn't think we went that far
You've pulled a rug over what was spilled
and seemed to have forgotten the glass of wine that broke
sometimes the truth stand in your way
