A Simple Symphony*

Serenely brilliant (such should our love be),
How exquisite and eloquent is time.
When the world is hushed and the silence of two hearts
strike each in each by mutual ordering,
a speechless song, being many, seeming one.
The long sequacious note floats softly over head
like that of the trumpet's simple song,
elevating the melodies of our blessed souls,
singing of love like it was honey dripping off our lips.
The pure, chaste hands stroke the instrument affectionately
proving harmony is two notes together as one
which can not be separated unless altered.
Let us join in sweet accord to create the music
which floats into the solemn air, then dances.
Neither pausing, nor resting on untamed wings.
Finding rhythm in our thoughts,
creating joyous sound with our hearts,
hand in hand, in the presence of the Grand Composer
offering up our simple symphony,
wishing to be used by the celestial instruments.
And so, this day, we begin our concerto
under the direction of the Great, our God.
Today in this heavenly duet, we can hear
the enchanting music of the piano and saxophone.
