Perpetual Kineticism

Dine on a feast of icicles
in a candle lit room
while the sounds of melting ice
trickle on to the smooth glassy floor
and in it, seek your reflection
a perfect replica had it not been
distorted by your own glassy countenance.

A smile shatters the icy cave
and sunlight begins to pour in
bounching off particles of water
shattering itself into a million rays
of pure, untainted light.

Close your eyes if it becomes too bright
and out-stretch your arms
in honour of your baptism.
Leave your frozen guilded cage
and become graced in the perpetual beauty
of a glass marble
endlessly rolling, eternally tumultuous
never knowing kinetic because it lives in motion
You will chase it ceaselessly
and its reflection will tease you incessantly
an object to obtain
but never to behold
