Farming
Farming is a one of the less popular strategies in Earth, however done correctly and at the right times in the game it can be the most profitable. Farming is usually done later in the game when the wars between alliances begin(in the intensive version of Earth) or when everyone starts attacking everyone else. The reason farming is done at such a late period in the game is that when people start warring they need to feed their evergrowing army's and so they go to the Public Market. As more and more people look to the market for food, the prices rise(supply and demand) and you the lonely farmer make a killing.
If you want to be a farmer then you have to start out right. Build up your country and when you see the prices rising jump into the market.
You should start your country as an industrial country or Teching country then at the right point demolish about 1/2 of all your Idustry or Research buildings. Don't demolish all of them because food prices can rise and fall very quickly and you want to make sure your country will not lose net worth from the switch to farming.
Farming is not a long term strategy and should only be used in conjunction with other strategies. Farming done properly and in moderation for short periods of time can propell your country strait to the top but you must be aware of the dangers and watch for them closely.
