steps over truth
racing up the great fight of stairs,
she skips steps instinctively
never hesitating.
over the years,
the steps that she tramples degenerate
and the steps that she avoids become alienated
one day she fumbles and trips,
and falls back a few steps.
onto a step that sheÕs never used
but this step has lost its trust in her,
so she falls through.
sheÕs grown so accustomed to her habits,
trapped in her intricate web of deceit,
that when she tries to slow down,
take one step at a time,
she trips and falls through
again
and again.
sheÕs become so used to skipping steps.
stepping over truth.
