I would love to dissect Evil
chopping it into microscopic pieces
so it could never exert an influence again.
But to dissect Evil you first must catch it
and in the catching, acknowledge that it exists
an act that runs contrary to the will of the human mind.
Evil exists where people go bad
at the bottom of wars, cruelty, hate, and greed,
lurks the beast that stalks children in the night.
This beast feeds off of fears and insecurities
living as a parasite who stalks from within
but is searched for without.
The battle against evil is fought by all.
Only when we band together in hope
will the beast be overcome.
