Chocolate Crayons

"Life is like a box of chocolates."
No, say rather
Life is like a box of crayons
and you will be much closer to the mark.

A box of chocolates, be it small or large,
is always chocolates, and a sweet treat,
but quickly consumed
and forgotten.

A box of crayons, however,
comes with a license
for creativity.

You open the lid and 
are greeted with various
resplendent hues.

Leave them in the sun,
they'll melt in front 
of you.

Pick them up and color,
they'll draw dreams
for you.

With crayon in hand,
what you do is up to you.

There are lines out there: will you stay inside them?
