This is set in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, in New York City. It took place after the Blessing of the Animals/ Feast of St. Francis, a yearly occurance where people from all over the country come and participate in the Earth Mass service, and at one point all of the animals are blessed, and they bring in an Elephant from the zoo, and camels, and other exotic species. It's awesome!

In a bustling city
	A quiet stone cathedral
	a bay
  for poets	-and God
Elsewhere a tourist
        fond
             awed 
	inspired by
   visits this cathedral	-once again
Oh! What a service
        but after 
            the florist's
	a rose
	     the gift shop
	         a candle 
   to the poet's corner	-she is drawn
On the altar she puts
           unwrapped rose 
           burning candle
She turns
           kneels
             on the steps prays

			she is surrounded
			         by light
			         and presence
			she is connected
			        to God
			        to poets
			         and world.
Smiling, she rises to go
	behind her she leaves
