Backstreet Boys Bio

(I actually wrote this myself!)

You think the Backstreet Boys are one of the best bands ever right? Otherwise you wouldn’t be on this website. Well here is the story behind their great success. They met in Disney World in Orlando, Florida (you probably know that already). Nick, Howie, and A. J. were taking singing lessons and they had the same teacher but they had never met. So the singing teacher introduced them to eachother. Then one day they decided to sing together. They sounded great (duh!), so they decided to form a trio. Meanwhile, Kevin was working in Universal Studios as a Ninja Turtle, Aladdin, and Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid Show. A guy heard him sing and suggested him to join a group he knew. The group was of course Nick, Howie, and A. J. They boys liked how he sounded, so they let him in the group. Finally, thier big break came. On the newspaper they saw an ad that somebody was looking for a boy band. Out of the many boys that tried out, they got chosen. They still thought they were missing sound. So they had try-outs for another guy to join. A lot of guys tried out but they weren’t good enough. Kevin thought of his cousin, Brian, in Kentucky. He called him while he was in history class and he flew to Orlando right away (well not right away, he had to pack and stuff). He tried singing with them and they sounded great (of course). Well now they needed a name. In Orlando there was a place called the Backstreet Market. It was a place for shopping in the day and a teen hangout at night. They adopted the name Backstreet and added boys to it because you have the Beach Boys, the Beastie Boys, and that name also means friends. A great new group was born. They sang at high schools and stuff like that at the beginning. Finally they signed with Zomba Records. They recorded a song called ‘‘We’ve Got It Going On’’. Later Zomba Records left and they had to break thier contract. They signed with Jive records and they were thrilled because some of thier favorite artists were with that company. Even though they were phenomenal, in the United States, there didn’t seem to be a lot of fans. They later went on tour in Europe. They were loved immediately there because Europe always loved pop music and at the time, America was mostly into grunge. They went on tour in Canada and had the same success there they had had in Europe. They still weren’t liked that much in America. They were liked everywhere else except there. They finally came out with thier first album. It was a great success in Europe and Canada. Still they weren’t liked in America. They won a lot of awards for that album. Finally thier songs played a lot on the radio and stuff in America and thier videos were getting requested a lot on The Box. When the BSB came back to America, fans would mob them everywhere. A lot of girls would get hurt because other girls wouldn’t care who they hurt to get to them. Right now this still happens and with thier new CD, Millennium, is doing really well on all the charts. They have come a long way from singing in high schools. Now they are loved and adored by fans all over the world, including America. Yea!
